Purple & White Earns 9-0 Win Over No. 24 Wellesley

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 17th-ranked Amherst College women's squash team coasted to a 9-0 victory against No. 24 Wellesley College Friday in the first round of the CSA Team Championships at the Murr Center on the campus of Harvard University.

With the win, the Jeffs improve to 11-6 on the year and advance to the semifinals of the Walker Cup (C Division). Following the loss, Wellesley drops to 13-9 and heads into the consolation semifinals.

Tiana Palmer-Poroner '17, Taryn Clary '16, Meyha Sud '16, Khushy Aggarwal '16, and Corri Johnson '16 all swept their opponents on courts No. 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9, respectively.

In the top of the lineup, Kimberly Krayacich '18, Arielle Lehamn '15 and Haley McAtee '18 claimed courts No. 1-through-3 by a score of 3-1, while Ericka Robertson '16 claimed the No. 5 spot by the same margin. McAtee lost a tough first set, 14-12, but battled back to take the next three, 11-6, 12-10 and 11-6.

The Purple & White will resume action tomorrow, Feb. 14 in semifinal action against No. 21 Colby College at 11:15 a.m. This will be the third time Amherst will face Colby this season. They are 2-0 in the previous two meetings.
