Jeffs Defeat Hamilton, 6-3

RESULTS 

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The fifth-seeded and nationally-ranked No. 17 Amherst College women's squash team closed out the weekend at the 2015 NESCAC Championships with a 6-3 win over sixth-seeded and nationally-ranked No. 18 Hamilton College in the consolation round.

The Jeffs defeated the Continentals for the second time this season and improve to 10-6 overall. On January 17, they claimed a 7-2 win over Hamilton at home. Following today's loss, the Continentals dropped to 13-7.

Amherst earned wins from the No. 3, 4 and 5 positions. Haley McAtee '18 took the No. 3 spot with a 3-1 win (11-3, 11-9, 9-11, 12-10), Tiana Palmer-Poroner '17 trailed 2-1 in the No. 4 position before taking games four and five (11-9, 4-11, 9-11, 13-11, 11-5), and Erika Robertson '16 grabbed a 3-1 win on the No. 5 court (11-6, 7-11, 14-12, 11-1).

The bottom of the lineup featured wins from Meyha Sud '16, Khushy Aggarwal '16 and Corri Johnson '16 in the No. 7, 8 and 9 spots, respectively. Sud and Aggarwal swept their opponents, while Johnson claimed the No. 9 court, 3-1.

The Jeffs return to the court Friday, Feb. 13 and will compete in the WCSA Howe Cup at Harvard.
