Jeffs Drop 7-2 Match to Middlebury

AMHERST, Mass. – The 17th-ranked Amherst College women's squash team fell to No. 13 Middlebury College Saturday afternoon in its final match of the 2014-15 season at the Davenport Courts, 7-2.

With the loss, Amherst falls to 6-3 on the year, while Middlebury moves to 13-5.

Kim Krayacich '18 and Meyha Sud '16 won their matches on courts No. 1 and 7, respectively. Krayacich split the first two games (11-7, 7-11) with Saskia Pownall-Gray, before taking the next two 11-9 and 11-7, to win the game. Sud took all three games by scores of 11-7, 11-6 and 13-11.

On court No. 2, Arielle Lehman '15 fell 11-3 and 11-4 in the first two games, before rallying in the next two to claim wins of 11-8 and 11-8. Lehman ultimately dropped the fifth set. 11-7. Erika Robertson '16 won two of the first three games in her match before dropping the last two as she fell, 3-2.

Next up for the Jeffs are the Little Three Championships at Wesleyan Sunday, Feb. 1. The day starts with Wesleyan at 10:30 a.m. followed by Williams at 12:30 p.m.
