Jeffs Fall to No. 14 Drexel, 8-1

AMHERST, Mass. - The 18th-ranked Amherst College women's squash team fell to No. 14 Drexel University, 8-1 on Sunday morning in the final day of action at the Pioneer Valley Invitational hosted by the Jeffs at the Davenport Courts. 

With the loss, Amherst moves to 6-2 on the season, while Drexel improves to 4-5 overall. 

Drexel earned eight, 3-0 victories against Amherst in Sunday's action.On the No. 9 court, Kristine Giltvedt picked up an 11-5 win in set one against the Jeffs' Corri Johnson '16, but Johnson won the next three sets 11-8, 11-9, 12-10 to seal the lone victory for the Purple & White. 

Kim Krayacich '18 battled Hayley Hughes to a 12-10 score in the second frame before falling in straight sets from the No. 1 court; while Khushy Aggarwal '16 and Meyha Sud '16 played to second set scores of 12-10 and 13-11 against Kiran Vasudevan and Abby Kaplan before falling, 3-0 from the No. 7 and No. 8 courts respectively. 

Amherst returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 28 when it hosts Brown University at 6 p.m. at the Davenport Courts.
