Jeffs Sweep by Smith, 9-0

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The 18th-ranked Amherst College women's squash team picked up an impressive 9-0 sweep of No. 36 Smith College on Tuesday evening improving to 2-0 on the season. 

For the second straight match, the Jeffs did not drop a set as first-years Kim Krayacich and Haley McAtee led the Purple & White from the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Arielle Lehman '15, Tiana Palmer-Poroner '17 and Taryn Clary '16 contributed victories from the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 positions, while Mae Cromwell '18 earned a win at the No. 6 slot. Izzy Derber '17,  Nicole Yang '16 and Caitlin Merrell '17 highlighted the 7-9 spots for Amherst as the Pioneers were only able to acheive double digits (10) once in a game during the entire match. 

Each of the Jeffs' nine players now stands at 2-0 on the season in head-to-head competition. 

Amherst returns to action on Friday, January 9 when it hosts Bowdoin College at 2:30 p.m. at the Davenport Squash Courts.
