Men and Women Squash Competitors

Combined the men's and women's squash teams posted a 5-0 record this weekend at the West Point Invitational and the Williams Invitational, respectively. Facing three strong teams, the men cruised to and 8-1 win over Penn before a 9-0 victory over Connecticut College. But their biggest challenge would be against another Top-10 school, Franklin & Marshall. Though Kevin Orphan '99 (Atlanta, GA)Collin Bell '97 (Villanova, PA) and Hayden Felice '98 (Radnor, PA) dropped close matches, Amherst still prevailed 6-3 in the end. No. 1 David McNeely '00 (Newton Square, PA) defeated Vineet Asthana in four games (15-7, 9-15, 15-6, 15-12) to avenge his loss to Asthana in last week's tournament play.

Rebounding from their first loss to Bowdoin last week, the women breezed to 9-0 wins over Colgate and Vassar.
