Maggie Waxter enters her second season on the sidelines as a member of the Amherst women’s lacrosse coaching staff following a praise-worthy career at Washington & Lee University.
Graduating from Washington & Lee in the spring of 2017 with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Waxter was a four-year member of the lacrosse and field hockey teams and served as a captain for both sports during her senior year.
Starting every contest in her junior and senior seasons for the Generals and appearing in 74 games overall, Waxter racked up 31 goals and dished out 12 assists to total 43 points as a skilled midfielder. Recording career-high numbers during her senior year in 2017, Waxter led Washington & Lee to their eighth consecutive ODAC league title and to the NCAA Final Four for the first time in program history as the No. 2 nationally ranked team in the country.
Off the field, Waxter was a member of Washington & Lee’s University Athletic Council, Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Generals Leadership Academy.
