Noyes Named Inside Lacrosse Division III Rookie of the Year

AMHERST, Mass. – First-year midfielder Maia Noyes of the Amherst College women's lacrosse team has been named InsideLacrosse.com's Division III Rookie of the Year following a sensational rookie campaign, as announced by the organization Tuesday.

One of just four players to start all 20 contests for the Mammoths, Noyes' adds ILW Rookie of the Year honors to her growing list of postseason accolades after previously racking up First Team All-NESCAC, First Team All-Region, Second Team All-America and NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors for her efforts on the field.

The Mammoths' top draw specialist with 75 draw controls, Noyes also led Amherst with 10 free position goals en route to tallying 52 total points (third on team) behind 26 scores and 26 assists while registering three-or-more points in eight outings donning the purple and white.  A multifaceted two-way player, the Lexington, Mass. native finished 2018 with a stat line that included 29 ground ball pickups, 21 caused turnovers and a 41.3 shot percentage.

Returning to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time since 2014, Amherst finished the spring with a 17-3 overall ledger and a 9-1 mark in league play.
