HADLEY, Mass. – First-year Maia Noyes of the Amherst College women's lacrosse team captured NESCAC Co-Player of the Week honors following a stellar collegiate debut for the Mammoths, as announced by the league office Monday. She shares the honor with junior attacker Dakota Adamec of Tufts.
Leading the Amherst offense in their season opening, 13-12 upset win over then-No. 9 Colby, Noyes registered a game-high seven points behind a three goal, four assist effort. Coming through in the clutch for the Mammoths, six of her seven points, including all three scores, came in the second half when Amherst outscored the Mules, 8-6 to pull out the comeback victory. Additionally, the Wayland, Mass. native added one ground ball pickup and forced one turnover to round out the performance.
Noyes and the Mammoths return to action tomorrow, Tuesday, March 6 when they host Keene State in a non-conference battle at 6:30 p.m.
