Solow, a defender, was named First Team All-Berkshire Region, while midfielder Cagnassola was tabbed Second Team All-Berkshire Region. Both are first time recipients of IWLCA all-region praise.
A total of 256 student-athletes in NCAA Division III were named All-Region, and these players are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams which will be announced Friday, May 19. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American Banquet on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Md.
A 2017 Second Team All-NESCAC selection, Solow was terrific in her second season playing intercollegiate lacrosse leading the team in caused turnovers with 25, and also in ground balls with 33. Solow ranked in the top 10 in the league in ground balls this season (tied for ninth), and was seventh in the conference in caused turnovers.
Cagnassola tied for the team lead in points in 2017 with 26 thanks to combination of 20 goals and six assists. She was also stellar on the draw, finishing second on the team with 19 draw controls, while also scooping 18 ground balls. Effective in transition from offense to defense, Cagnassola also forced eight opponent turnovers during her senior campaign.
