Cagnassola, Solow Named All-NESCAC In Women’s Lacrosse

HADLEY, Mass. – Claire Cagnassola '17 and Sabrina Solow '19 of the Amherst College women's lacrosse team were named Second Team All-NESCAC as announced by the league office on Thursday. 

Cagnassola and Solow were both named to the second team and both earned their first NESCAC honors following stellar 2017 seasons.

A team captain and leader in the Amherst midfield throughout the campaign, Cagnassola registered 20 goals and dished out six assists and tied for the team lead in points with 26. She also picked 18 ground balls finished second on the team in draw controls with 19, in addition to causing eight opponent turnovers. 

A stingy defender, Solow started 13-of-15 games played this season and registered team highs in both ground balls (33) and caused turnovers (25) in addition to finding the back of the net once, and notching eight draw controls.

The duo helped the Mammoths earn a bid to their 17th consecutive NESCAC Championship tournament where they were narrowly edged by Middlebury College, 8-7.
