GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Four members of the 2015 Amherst College women's lacrosse team were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll as recently announced by the organization.
Four seniors from last year's squad including Fiona Dearth, Meghan Mills, Sarah Spector, and Priscilla Tyler were among the record total 838 student-athletes recognized for their strong academic success across NCAA Divisions I, II and III and the NAIA.
A total of 404 student-athletes from 127 different institutions in Division III were honored. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically and had a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Thirty-six NESCAC student-athletes from 10 of 11 institutions received this prestigious accolade, led by eight representatives from Williams College. Amherst, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Hamilton College, and Tufts University followed with four selections each. Bates College had three players secure the award, followed by two each from Middlebury College and Wesleyan University, and one from Trinity College.
