Passarelli Named NESCAC Player of the Week

NESCAC RELEASE

HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst College junior women's lacrosse player Rachel Passarelli was named the NESCAC Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday.

Passarelli helped lead Amherst to a 2-0 week as the Purple & White posted NESCAC and Little Three victories over Wesleyan University (14-8) and Williams College (17-11).

After scoring two goals and assisting on two others in the first half of Amherst's win over the Cardinals, the team's leading scorer (30 goals, five assists, 35 points) struck for five more markers in the Purple & White's triumph over the Ephs. Three of her goals against Williams either tied the game or gave Amherst a one-goal lead as the Purple & White has now won six straight against its archrival.

Passarelli also collected three groundballs during the week en route to her first weekly accolade of the season.

Amherst returns to action Tuesday, April 7 when it travels to Connecticut College a 6 p.m. contest in New London, Conn.
