Randall, LaRose Named to Women's Lacrosse All-NESCAC Teams

HADLEY, MA – Sophomore attack Marta Randall (Monkton, MD) and junior midfielder Meredith LaRose (Cranford, NJ) each earned a spot on the All-NESCAC women's lacrosse teams after helping the Lord Jeffs to a 9-6 overall mark and the program's tenth conference championship berth.

A first-team all-league pick, Randall helped shoulder much of Amherst's offensive load this season, ranking first on the team and fifth in the conference in goals (38), while sitting 12th in the NESCAC in points per game (2.80). Leading the squad in shot percentage (.603), the Monkton, MD native had 11 multiple-goal games to her credit, including a season-high six goals against then-No. 12 Tufts University and then-No. 8 Middlebury College on Mar. 12 and Apr. 13, respectively.

The standout sophomore also scored five tallies in a 10-4 win over Oneonta State on Mar. 15, before registering four scores against then-No. 15 Bowdoin College (Mar. 26) and a hat-trick against then-No. 3 Trinity College in the squad's regular season finale. Ranking fourth in the NESCAC in free-position goals with 10, Randall tracked down 15 ground balls and caused nine turnovers on the year.

A first-team selection in 2010, LaRose received her second-consecutive All-NESCAC honor, earning second-team accolades this season. The Cranford, NJ native finished second on the team in ground balls and caused turnovers with 31 and 18, respectively. The versatile midfielder also proved to be a threat on the offensive end, registering five goals and a pair of assists in 15 appearances.

The junior picked up a season-high four ground balls against Wheaton College (Apr. 7) and arch-rival Williams College (Apr. 9), while causing a season-best four turnovers in a 6-4 win over Springfield College on Mar. 29. LaRose also netted a season-high two goals against the Pride, matching her two-score effort in the team's opener against then-No. 13 Tufts University on Mar. 12.
