FROM A WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY RELEASE

MIDDLETOWN, CT – Junior Abby Ouimet scored a career-high six goals and added an assist to lead the Amherst College women's lacrosse team, ranked third in the latest IWLCA national poll, to a 14-8 victory at NESCAC and Little Three rival Wesleyan University. Sophomore Liz Martin, who leads Amherst with 34 goals on the season, added five scoring strikes.

With the score tied 2-2, Martin and Ouimet each scored four goals in first half's last 20 minutes en route to a 10-3 Amherst advantage at the break. Wesleyan, which got a pair of goals each from Rebecca Vogel and Martina McPherson, would get no closer until a three-goal flurry inside the final minute set the final score at 14-8.

Amherst converted on 14 of 22 shots and received standout goaltending from junior Brooke Diamond, who finished with 12 saves. Ouimet and Martin are now tied for the team-lead in points with 37.

Amherst (7-1/3-1 NESCAC) returns to action next Saturday at 2 p.m. at conference-foe Bowdoin College.
