Second-Ranked Jeffs Thump 20th-Ranked Trinity, 15-2

HARTFORD, CT - The second-ranked Amherst College women's lacrosse team won their fourth straight game after thumping 20th-Ranked NESCAC foe Trinity College, 15-2, Wednesday afternoon. The visiting Jeffs led 6-1 at the break and tacked on nine goals in the second half to round out the scoring. Junior attacker Abby Ouimet (Hatfield, MA) paced the Jeffs with six points on three goals and three assists. Sophomore middie Liz Martin (Baltimore, MD) tacked on four goals and an assist while junior Mary Kate Allen (Springfield, MA) chipped in with a trio of goals. 

Amherst junior goaltender Brooke Diamond (Longmeadow, MA) finished with 9 saves. With the victory, the Jeffs improve to 4-0/2-0 while the Bantams drop to 6-1/2-1. The Jeffs return home Saturday at noon for a battle against top-ranked and defending Division III National Champion Middlebury College.
