Women's Lacrosse Pounds Smith

Women's lacrosse extended its win streak to three with a 24-5 rout of Pioneer Valley rival Smith. Amherst took a 12-1 lead over Smith 16 minutes after the opening whistle toward a 15-3 lead at the break. Senior tri-captain Heather Kestner (Wilmington, DE) tallied a career-high six goals to push her career total to 96. Three players notched hat tricks as rookie Kristin Osborn (Morristown, NJ), sophomore Katherine Poulin (St. Davids, PA) and senior tri-captain Heidi Cline (Andover, MA) each notched three goals. Osborn added three assists as Amherst outshot the Pioneers 35-18 and had nine people tally points on offense. Rookie keeper Jess Thaxton (Wayland, MA) made six saves in her first collegiate start.
