SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst College senior co-captain Geneva Lloyd was named the NESCAC Women's Hockey Player of the Week Monday after her two-goal, four-assist night at Colby College Friday made her the seventh player in Amherst program history to tally over 100 career points.

In the Lord Jeffs' first game in nearly a month, Lloyd made her presence felt in a big way Friday, sparking Amherst to an emphatic 10-1 win over the Mules, the team's highest single-game scoring figure since a 10-1 win over Williams on Feb. 11, 2011. On Saturday, her leadership on defense helped the Jeffs shut out Colby until the final minute of a 2-1 win.

Lloyd's four assists and six total points in the series opener marked career highs for the 2011-12 CCM All-American and NESCAC Player of the Year. With 38 goals and 64 assists for 102 career points, Lloyd was a first-team All-Conference selection each of her first three seasons, leading the Jeffs in scoring in 2009-10 and 2010-11. Her career assists total ranks third in program history.

The senior has been as reliable as ever this winter, tallying points in all but two of Amherst's contests. With eight goals and seven assists on the season, Lloyd's monster night Friday vaulted her to the top of the NESCAC scoring table.

Lloyd helped the Jeffs to a fast start in the opener at Colby, assisting junior Ashley Salerno's goal 7:10 into the first period, then striking for a goal of her own just seven seconds later on a long shot from the left point. The senior tallied a pair of helpers in the second stanza, reaching the century mark as she assisted Salerno for the second time on the evening 18:39 into the frame. She added another assist in the third before capping Amherst's scoring with an unassisted tally at the 11:23 mark.

Lloyd and the Jeffs will face a stiff test on the ice this weekend, traveling to No. 4 Middlebury College for a conference doubleheader beginning with Friday night's 7 p.m. contest.
