Babineau Named NESCAC Player of the Week

HADLEY, Mass. - Senior Erin Babineau (St. Paul, Minn.) was named the NESCAC Player of the Week after helping the fifth-ranked Amherst women's hockey team to a 3-0-0 (2-0-0 NESCAC) stretch that kept the Jeffs atop the conference standings.

Opening a three-game week against New England College, Babineau scored a goal with only four seconds remaining in the first period, giving Amherst a 4-0 lead en route to a decisive 7-2 win. 

The St. Paul, Minn. native then recorded three points in the first of two weekend games with league rival Colby. She opened the game with an assist on the game winner 15:05 into the first period before having a hand in both Jeff goals in the final frame, collecting another assist at 13:44 before netting her fifth score of the year at 19:07.

Closing out the week with an assist in a 3-1 victory over the Mules on Saturday, Babineau currently ranks tied for fourth on the team in points with five goals and four helpers.
