WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - The Amherst College women's ice hockey team fell at 9th-ranked NESCAC and Little Three rival Williams College on Friday night, 7-2. The Ephs placed seven different players in the scoring column as they improved to 9-6 overall and 8-2 in conference play. Senior Ali White (Brookline, MA) and sophomore Renee Sisti (Coventry, CT) found the net for the Jeffs, who fell to 8-8 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
Williams built a 4-0 lead using goals from first-years Taya Latham, Abigail Taylor, Anna Condino and senior Tori Scott. White put the Jeffs on the board with just under two minutes remaining in the first period off assists from first-years Alena Harrison (Westwood, MA) and Rachel Simon (West Orange, NJ). Sophomore Rachel Barr pushed the Ephs lead back to four, but Sisti responded with her eigth goal of the year off feeds from Simon and fellow rookie Kirsten Forsberg (Kenilworth, IL). Williams closed the second frame with a power-play goal from senior Molly Wasserman, and Eph first-year Daley Kirby capped the scoring with the only goal of the third period.
Amherst first-year goalie Lindsay Grabowski (Princeton, NJ) nabbed 26 saves, while senior Fern Senior and junior Alexa Holleran split time in net for Williams, collecting seven and five saves, respectively.
Amherst returns to action Saturday, at 3 p.m. at NESCAC rival Middlebury College.
