Jeffs Snap Three-Game Winning Streak With 4-3 Loss at Conn. College

NEW LONDON, CT - The Amherst College women's hockey team knotted the score at 3-3 early in the third period but fell victim to a game-winning tally by rookie Laura Gosnell en route to a 4-3 NESCAC loss at Connecticut College on Tuesday night. Reigning NESCAC Player of the Week Renee Sisti (Coventry, CT) had a goal and an assist in defeat, as the Jeffs saw a three-game winning streak fall by the wayside.

The Camels responded with goals from first-years Meaghan McLaughlin and Jen Bogle to take a 2-1 lead in the second period. Sisti knotted the score with a power-play goal off an assist from first-year Tes Siarnacki (Gardner, MA) seven minutes into the second session. Conn. College took the lead as Gosnell fed sophomore Kate Reardon, but the Jeffs answered as Sisti found senior Ali White (Brookline, MA) for a power-play goal just under three minutes into the final period. Gosnell put the Camels up for good with a power-play goal at the 8:22-mark.

First-year goalie Lindsay Grabowski (Princeton, NJ) nabbed 17 saves as the Jeffs dropped to 6-6 (3-6 NESCAC), while sophomore Gabby Petrill collected 44 saves for the Camels, who improved to 4-10 (3-4 NESCAC).
