WATERVILLE, ME - Sophomore forward Renee Sisti (Conventry, CT) scored with just 2:10 remaining in regulation to give the Amherst College women's ice hockey team a 3-2 victory at NESCAC rival Colby College on Saturday. Sisti was joined in the scoring column by first-year forwards Rachel Simon (West Orange, NJ) and Alena Harrison (Westwood, MA) as the Jeffs improved to 4-5 (3-5 NESCAC).
Amherst built a 2-0 lead in the first period as Harrison and sophomore Amanda Mattei (Windsor, CT) found Simon for the first goal and senior forward Ali White (Brookline, MA) fed Harrison for the second. The White Mules battled back as junior Michele Barmash scored unassisted in the second period, and fellow junior Heather DeVito evened the score with 7:27 left in the game. Sisti's game-winner came off feeds from fellow first years Meghan Dickoff (Minnetonka, MN) and Tes Siarnacki (Gardner, MA).
First-year goalie Lindsay Grabowski (Princeton, NJ) posted 25 saves for the Jeffs, while her counterpart, first-year Alex Harris, had 28 saves for the White Mules who fell to 0-9 (0-4 NESCAC).
