Women's Hockey Pounds Boston University, 6-2

BOSTON, MA - Sophomore sharpshooter Tory Serues (Cambridge, MA) scored a pair of goals, while junior tri-captain forward Danielle Williams (Needham, MA) added a goal and two assists, as the Amherst College women's hockey team won an exhibition game at Boston University, 6-2, on Wednesday night.

Serues notched what turned out to be the game-winner 3:02 into the second period off a pair of assists by senior tri-captain Hilary Zwerdling (Shrewsbury, MA) and first-year phenom Annie Grabowski (Princeton, NJ). The Jeffs placed five different players in the scoring column, including Williams, Zwerdling, sophomore Alison White (Brookline, MA), and first-year Sarah Mason (Minneapolis, MN).

Junior tri-captain goaltender Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) played the entire game for Amherst, posting 19 saves. The Jeffs outshot Boston U. 35-21.

Amherst returns to action this Friday at 7 p.m. at NESCAC rival Bowdoin College.
