Women's Hockey Falls to Colby, 4-1

December 1 - After falling to Bowdoin College, 4-0 on Friday night, the women's hockey team faced visiting undefeated Colby College on Saturday and came away with a 4-1 loss, dropping to 2-4 on the season. Sophomore forward Bess Kargman (Brookline, MA) scored the Jeffs lone goal. Junior goaltender Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) had another busy day for the Jeffs with 33 saves, after tallying 45 Friday night against visiting Bowdoin.

First-year forward Caitlin Krause (Keene, NH) set the tone with the game's first goal 19:10 into the first period, assisted by Young and Jessopp. Colby scored shortly thereafter when first-year forward Heather DeVito (Arlington, MA) shot a wrister into the back of the net off a feed from Sweeney for the game-winner. First-year forward Michele Barmash (Kirkland, Quebec) and Young each tallied once to round out the scoring for the White Mules.

Amherst returns to action Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against visiting Holy Cross.
