Jeffs Blank New England College, 4-0

HENNIKER, NH - Behind a pair of goals from sophomore forward Alison White (Brookline, MA) and a 12-save performance by first-year netminder K.C. Cosentino (Greenwich, CT) in her collegiate debut, the Amherst College women's hockey team snapped a two-game losing skid with a 4-0 win at non-league foe New England College on Wednesday night. The Jeffs improved to 4-8 with the victory, while New England College remained winless at 0-8.

Amherst cemented the win early with a flurry of goals during a 3:06 span in the opening period. First-year forward Ellie Roe (Edina, MN) ignited the barrage with her second career goal 11:15 into the game, followed by White's twin tallies - both assisted by junior tri-captain Danielle Williams (Needham, MA). Sophomore forward Tory Serues (Cambridge, MA) then added an insurance score on a power play in the second period to set the final score at 4-0.

White's pair of goals upped her season total to five, tying her with Williams for the team lead. Amherst junior tri-captain goaltender Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) played the entire first period and was virtually untested before giving way to Cosentino.

Amherst returns to action this Friday at 7 p.m. against undefeated Middlebury College (10-0), the top ranked team in the nation.
