Mammoths Hold On to Fourth Place Finish at Mount Holyoke Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst College shaved seven strokes off of their Day 1 score and remained solidly in fourth place as play concluded in the Mount Holyoke Invitational on Sunday afternoon at The Orchards Golf Club.

Senior Morgan Yurosek shot a 77 on Day 2, finishing with a 156 (+12) in a tie for 13th place.

Janelle Jin '23, who had led the Mammoths with an opening day 76, carded an 81 to place 15th overall with a 13 over par 157.

Lily Worden '21 and Isabelle Ouyang '22 both tied for twentieth place in the field of 86 golfers. Worden was in the 70's on Sunday with a 79. Ouyang went 80-81-161 to get to her final score of +17.

Jin was competing as an individual, as was Katie Mina Lee '22, who ended the day tied for 29th with teammate India Gaume '22.

Gaume shot an 82 after an opening day 81, while Mina Lee followed an 80 on Saturday with a Sunday 83.

Cortland's Danielle Bambola defeated Olivia White of Williams College in a playoff hole after the pair each shot 147 (+3) for the tournament.

Williams won the team event by 23 strokes over NYU and Middlebury, who both were +46 for the tournament.

Amherst heads to Ralph Myhre Golf Course next weekend for the two-day Middlebury College Invitational.
