Women’s Golf Solidly Third After Day 1 at Williams Invite

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – After the first day of play at Taconic Golf Club, the Amherst College women's golf team sits solidly in third place as the Mammoths play their final tournament of the 2019 season, the Williams College Spring Invitational.

Amherst combined to shoot 315 on Saturday, behind the two teams from Williams entered in the competition. One Williams group leads the tournament with a 303, while Amherst trails the second team by just two strokes heading into Sunday's final day.

Sophomore Lily Worden is tied for third overall after a Day 1 74 on her scorecard. Maggie Schoeller '19 carded a 79 to tie for 11th overall, while Isabelle Ouyang '21 is tied for 13th after an opening day 80.

Mina Lee '22 and Katie Rosenberg '19 each finished with 82's, good for a tie for 17th place.

As an individual, first year India Gaume sits tied for seventh place with an opening round 77.

The tournament concludes on Sunday with a 9:00 AM shotgun start at Taconic Golf Club.
