Tournament Champ Ouyang Leads Mammoths to Leaman Invite Victory

AMHERST, Mass. —With three top-ten finishes, including the individual champion, the Amherst College women's golf team clinched first place in the Jack Leaman Tournament Sunday afternoon at Hickory Ridge Golf Club.

First year Isabelle Ouyang was overall winner of the tournament, following up a 74 on day 1 with an 80 on Sunday for a final score of 154 (+8). She won the tournament by four strokes over several golfers, including teammate Zoe Wong '18.

Amherst posted a day one score of 316 and a day two score of 318 (634), placing them three points ahead of New York University (637) and seven points ahead of rival Williams College (641). Ouyang led the pack with score of a 74-80-154. Wong carded a score of 158 and tied for second place. Morgan Yurosek '20 tied for ninth after she recorded a score of 162. 

Emily Young '20 (83-80-163) and Kate Weiss '19 (81-86-167) finished in 12th and T-22nd, respectively. Competing individually, Lily Worden '21 also tied for 22nd. Also playing as individuals were Jessica Jeong '20 and Maggie Schoeller '21. Jeong recorded a combined score of 168 and tied for 27th. Schoeller shot a score of 180 and finished 40th in the tournament. 

Amherst travels to Williamstown, Massachusetts next weekend for the Williams Invitational hosted by the Ephs.
