AMHERST, Mass.— The Amherst College women's golf team is in first place after the first day of action in the Jack Leaman Invitational hosted by the Mammoths.
Amherst posted a round one score of 316, four strokes ahead of New York University (320). Archrival Williams College is not far behind with a score of 323.
Amherst's Isabelle Ouyang '21 and Zoe Wong '18 hold the top-two scores of the tournament, with totals of 74 and 78, respectively. Kate Weiss '19 also sits in the top-10 with a day one total of 81. Emily Young '20 shot an 83 and is currently tied for 17th-place, while Morgan Yurosek '20 is one point behind Young and is tied for 20th overall.
Day one of the tournament was held at the Amherst Golf Club while tomorrow's action will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00am at Hickory Ridge Golf Club.
