Women’s Golf Places Third After Day One of Jack Leaman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst College women's golf team sits in third place following a round one score of 324 on Saturday afternoon during the two-day Jack Leaman Invitational at Hickory Ridge Golf Club.

New York University (NYU) shot a day one score of 310 and currently sits in first place in the 11-team field while Williams College (316) and Amherst (324) follow in second and third respectively. Ithaca College (336) and Mount Holyoke College (340) round out the top five teams.

NYU's Jennifer Bluetling shot a low round of 74, while Williams' Cordelia Chan was one stroke behind with a 75. NYU's Alyssa Poentis and Middlebury College's Chloe Levins finished in a tie for third with a day one total of 76.

Amherst was led by Morgan Yurosek '20 and Jamie Gracie '17 who each shot a 79 on Saturday, while Emily Young '20, Jessica Jeong '20 and Kate Weiss '19 each carded rounds of 83. Competing as individuals, Katie Roseberg '19 and Maggie Schoeller '19 shot and 85 and an 87 respectively.
