WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Amherst College women's golf team placed fourth with a combined score of 654 in the Jeffs' season finale at the Williams College Spring Invitational.
Williams' "A" team won the invitational with a two-day score of 618, while the Ephs' "B" squad placed second with a total of 640. Middlebury College finished third with a 643, while Amherst came in fourth with a score of 654. Holy Cross came in fifth with a score of 746, and Westfield State University rounded out the field with a mark of 781.
Williams' Phoebe Mattana posted a 75 on day one and a 77 on day two to card a two-day score of 152 and earn individual medalist honors. Michelle Peng of Middlebury was one stroke behind Mattana with a 153 (79-74), while the Ephs' Sophie Kitchen tabbed scores of 78 and 76 to finish third overall.
Jamie Gracie '17 tied for fifth overall with a combined score of 156 (77 and 79), while Devyn Gardner '16 was second for Amherst with rounds of 82 and 83 (165). Zoe Wong '18 followed three strokes behind Gardner (80-88-168), and CJ Bernstein '15 finished fourth for the Jeffs with a two-day total of 172 (87-85). Sarah Ressler '16 added scores of 93 and 81 to finish with a 174.
