POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Amherst College's Jamie Gracie '17 shot a two-day score of 164 and tied for 15th overall as the Jeffs notched a sixth place finish at the Vassar College Invitational at Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Williams College won the invitational with a two-day total of 617, while New York University followed in second with a combined score of 632. Ithaca College (657), Middlebury College (661) and Mount Holyoke College (676) rounded out the top five in the field of 12 teams. Amherst placed sixth with score of 677.
Shelby Shote of Williams carded rounds of 73 and 75 (148) and earned individual medalist honors, while teammate Phoebe Mattana logged back-to-back rounds of 77 (154) and finished third overall. NYU's Alyssa Poentis posted a combined score of 150 (77-73) to finish second.
Gracie led the Jeffs with a day one score of 81 and followed with an 83 on day two en route to her total of 164. Zoe Wong '18 (84-84-168) was Amherst's second best finisher, while Devyn Gardner '16 carded a 172 (90-82).
Amherst returns to action Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19 at the Jack Leaman Invitational.
