AMHERST, Mass. - With a two-day team score of 650 (318-332), the Amherst College women's golf team finished fourth overall at the Jack Leaman Invitational Sunday.
The Jeffs scored a 318 in first round action at the Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst, Mass. and scored a 332 in round two play at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass. Ithaca College and Williams College finished in a tie for first with a 644 while Merrimack College took third (649) and Middlebury College placed fifth (655) to round out the top-five.
Georgiana Salant of Williams won the tournament with a two-day 149 (72-77). Leading the way for Amherst was Jamie Gracie '17. The first-year finished tied for fourth in the 87-team field with a 74 in round one and 84 in round two for a total of 158.
Placing in a tie for 10th and finishing second for the Jeffs was Sooji Choi '14 with a 161 (79-82), while Kristen Lee '14 finished in a three-way tie in 18th with a 164, scoring an 82 on both days.
Another strong performance for Amherst came from Devyn Gardner '16 who scored an 83 in day one play followed by an 84 in the final round to score a 167 and finish tied for 25th.
Amherst returns to action Saturday, Apr. 26 for the two-day Williams Spring invitational.
