Jeffs Finish Fifth at NYU Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Amherst women's golf team dropped seven strokes off its day one score to shoot a 338-331-669 at the NYU Fall Invitational, earning a fifth-place finish.

Jamie Gracie '17 led the squad with a 79-77-156 scorecard to tie for sixth overall in the 60-player field.

Following the first-year's stellar performance were Devyn Gardner '16 and Sooji Choi '14. Gardner finished in a tie for 18th with a two-day score of 169 while Choi posted a 172.

Kristen Lee '14 and Jenny Xu '16 both finished with a 179 after strong day-two performances. Lee took nine strokes off her day one score and Xu dropped seven off hers. 

Williams won the 11-team event with a 311-314-625 scorecard. Middlebury finished second with a total team score of 652 (329-323) followed by New York University with a 653 (321-332).

The Jeffs return to the links Saturday, Sept. 21 for the Mount Holyoke Invitational.
