Jeffs Win Wellesley Invitational

WELLESLEY, MA - The Amherst College women's golf team won the Wellesley Invitational, hosted by Wellesley College at Nehoiden Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday, led by senior Kathryn Kuchefski's (Wellesley, MA) first place finish. The Jeffs' two-day score of 338-334-672 was a dominating 46 strokes better than second place Wellesley College. 

Amherst had three golfers finish in the top five as Kuchefski, junior Emily Foran (Dallas, PA) and junior captain Meg Sullivan (Northampton, MA) placed first, fourth and fifth, respectively. Kuchefski's 78-77-155 was five strokes better than second-place finisher Kara Solem of Mt. Holyoke, while Foran shot a 86-84-170 and Sullivan finished with a two-day score of 88-84-172. First-year Sarah Harper (Rochester, MN) tied for ninth with a round of 86-89-175, and sophomore Melissa Sidman (Bethesda, MD) capped the Jeffs' scoring with a 106-102-208, good for 26th place. 

Amherst wraps up its fall slate Friday and Saturday at Central Connecticut State University.
