Kuchefski Wins Second Straight Tournament; Jeffs Finish Fourth at Central Conn. St. Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, CT - Senior Kathryn Kuchefski (Wellesley, MA) finished first individually and led the Amherst College women's golf team to fourth-place team showing at the Central Connecticut St. University Women's Golf Invitational, held at Stanley Golf Course on Friday and Saturday. Kuchefski earned her second consecutive tournament victory with a two-day score of 75-81-156. 

The Jeffs finished with a team score of 342-349-691, only 16 shots off the lead of first-place Long Island University. Amherst juniors Emily Foran (Dallas, PA) and Meg Sullivan (Northampton, MA) finished just one stroke apart with scores of 91-85-176 and 88-89-177, respectively. Foran tied for 20th, while Sullivan finished 23rd. Amherst first-year Sarah Harper (Rochester, MN) tied for 31st with a two-day score of 88-94-182, and sophomore Melissa Sidman (Bethesda, MD) rounded out the Jeffs' scoring with a 94-99-193, her best outing of the season, good for 42nd place.
