Jeffs 11th at Boston College Lady Eagle Invitational

SANDWICH, MA - The Amherst College women's golf team braved tough weather conditions for an 11th-place finish at the ninth-annual Lady Eagle Invitational, hosted by Boston College at The Ridge Club on Friday and Saturday, shooting a two-day score of 379-354-733. Senior Kathryn Kuchefski (Wellesley, MA) led the Jeffs with an 88-86-174, good for 37th place overall. 

First-year Sarah Harper (Rochester, MN) had the best opening round for Amherst, shooting an 87 on Saturday, but followed with a round of 90 on Sunday to finish in 42nd. Juniors Meg Sullivan (Northampton, MA) and Sarah Godwin (Swarthmore, PA) finished just two strokes apart with scores of 102-88-190 and 102-90-192, respectively. Sullivan tied for 52nd, while Godwin finished 55th. Sophomore Melissa Sidman (Bethesda, MD) rounded out the Jeffs' scoring with a 110-103-213, good for 66th place 

Georgetown University claimed the team championship with a two-day total of 326-312-638, three strokes ahead of tournament host Boston College. Georgetown sophomore Christy Larrimore took the individual title with a score of 76-73-149. 

Amherst returns to action Saturday and Sunday, April 17-18, at the Wellesley Invitational.
