Amherst Women's Golf Tied for First After First Day at Paradise Valley CC Invitational

CAVE CREEK, AZ - The Amherst College women's golf team shot a team score of 318-319-637 at the Paradise Valley Community College Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, good for second place. Amherst senior Kathryn Kuchefski (Wellesley, MA) shot a team-best 73-77-150, while first-year Sarah Harper (Rochester, MN) bettered her collegiate-best round from Monday with a 79-73-152. 

Junior captain Meg Sullivan (Northampton, MA) shot a 78-84-162 and classmate Sarah Godwin (Swarthmore, PA) finished with a two-day round of 88-85-173. Sophomore Melissa Sidman (Bethesda, MD) also shot well, finishing with rounds of 91-92-183. 

Columbia University won the tournament with a two-day 318-314-632 after finishing the first day tied with Amherst. 

Amherst returns to action Friday through Sunday, April 2-4, at the Boston College Invitational.
