AMHERST, MA - Amherst College finished third behind Boston University and Boston College at the Northeast Women's Golf Championships, held at the Hickory Ridge Country Club on Saturday and Sunday. Senior co-captain Katie Gravel (New Hampton, NY) paced the host Jeffs for the sixth straight tournament, firing a team-best 86-85-171 and tying for 10th place individually.
Behind Gravel, Amherst sophomores Meg Sullivan (Northampton, MA) and Emily Foran (Dallas, PA) finished consecutively in 15th and 16th place, followed by sophomore Sarah Godwin (Swarthmore, PA) and senior Jeannie Limpert (Washington, DC), who tied for 31st.
Amherst's team total of 712 was just 12 strokes shy of second-place finisher Boston University. Boston College's Kori Goulet fired a scorching 77-73-150 to claim individual medallist honors by eight strokes.
