Women's Golf wins Lady Eph Invitational

October 14, 2001

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - The Amherst women's golf team ended its fall campaign with a bang, as the Jeffs won the Lady Eph Invitational at Williams College's Taconic Golf Club on Sunday by a 13-stroke margin over second-place Bryant College. Amherst's five golfers finished with a team total of 343, ahead of Bryant (386), Holy Cross (402), Williams (417), Wellesley (429) and Babson (489).

Sophomore sensation Kathryn Kuchefski (Wellesley, MA) tied her career best round of 81, which she last shot in her college debut at Dartmouth on Sept. 16, 2000. Kathryn finished first individually in the Lady Eph Invitational and was a critical factor in the team's first-place finish.

The first-year trio of Emily Foran (Dallas, PA), Sarah Godwin (Swarthmore, PA), and Meg Sullivan (Northampton, MA) performed tremendously, finishing second, fourth, and sixth individually with scores of 85, 88, and 89, respectively.
