Eck, Fox Named to All-Northeast Region First Team

AMHERST, Mass. – For the third-straight season, Hannah Fox '20 and Madeline Eck '20 were selected to the All-Northeast Region teams, as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon.

Nominated by Sports Information Directors across the nation, 20 student-athletes garnered All-Northeast Region praise, with five players named to each of the four teams.

Eck makes her third consecutive appearance on the All-Region First Team, while Fox makes her debut on the First Team after back-to-back Second Team nods during her last two campaigns.

The only players to average double-figures for Amherst and each ranking inside the top-six in the NESCAC for scoring, Fox led the Mammoths with 16.4 points per game while Eck averaged 14.4 points per game in 2019-2020.

Fox and Eck are among the nations most prolific rebounding guards, averaging 6.8 and 6.0 rebounds per game, respectively. Eck, a 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-American, tallied 403 points and shot a team-leading 40.4% from three-point range during her senior season and dealt 63 assists with 55 steals, while Fox, who finishes her four-year career with 1,424 points, grabbed 190 rebounds on the winter and led the team in steals with 62 total.

Additionally, Fox made 2.3 of her 2.5 free throws per game to lead the team with a 91.4% mark from the charity stripe. The Plymouth Meeting, Pa. native scored in double-digits in 11 of the Mammoths' final 12 contests.

The Amherst tandem is joined by Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (Emmanuel), Erica DeCandido (Tufts), and Maddie Hasson (Bowdoin) on the All-Region First Team.

The NESCAC Runner-up, Tufts, earned two of the three major awards as DeCandido was named the Player of the Year and head coach Jill Pace was voted Coach of the Year.

The All-Region teams were first awarded in 2002. The Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards made their debut in 2006, while Rookie of the Year honors were added in 2008.
