Ally Kido enters her first year with the Amherst College softball staff in 2018-19, assisting head coach Jessica Johnson alongside Julie Bolduc.
Kido takes on a new role in the Amherst program after competing for four years under Johnson. A two-time NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete, she was a captain her senior year and accrued 96 total hits. Kido also notched 10 homeruns including an impressive grand slam in her rookie campaign against Elms. During her junior year she also hammered four home runs over a five game span and finished with an overall batting average of .319 in her career. Kido rounded outs her four years with 97 games played and 61 RBI’s in 301 at-bats.
Kido graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Amherst College in May of 2018. During her four years in Amherst, she worked as a Biology Research Assistant in Miller Lab and Hood Lab. She was also a Biology honors student where she examined the relationships between pigmentation and stress in A. nigrofasciata while also developing protocols for spectroscopy and video tracking.
The native of South Hadley, Massachusetts has a wide range of laboratory technical skills and computer skills while also maintaining scuba certifications in PADI open water and PADI advanced open water.
