OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Amherst College softball team fell to No. 4 University of Texas at Tyler, 13-0 in five innings in Friday evening's NCAA Division III Championship contest at the ASA Hall of Fame Softball Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Patriots used RBI singles from Bianca Van Vlerah, Kaylee Prather and Cheyenne Thompson, while two other runs came in via hit batters. Lauren Tuiskula '17 entered in relief in the circle for Amherst and forced the next batter to ground out to end the inning.

The Mammoths found some rhythm in the bottom of the second when Alena Marovitz '17 cracked a leadoff single to center field and advanced to second a base hit to left by Julia Turner '19. A ground out by Ally Kido '18 advanced the runners 60 feet into scoring position but UT Tyler was able to get out of the jam unscathed.
