HADLEY, Mass. - Amherst College junior pitcher Gina Pagan was named the NESCAC Pitcher of the Week in softball as announced by the conference office, Monday.
Pagan was named NESCAC Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season after finishing 3-0 in the circle with a 0.54 ERA. Pagan helped guide Amherst to an 8-1 win over MCLA in non-conference action to complete a double header sweep of the Trailblazers, added an 11-1 win over Middlebury in the first game of a twinbill with the Panthers, and then led the Mammoths to a 7-0 triumph over its conference rival.
Pagan allowed just seven hits, one run and two walks in 13.0 innings pitched during the week, while striking out 16, including 10 in Amherst's 11-1 victory over Middlebury.
The Mammoths return to action Wednesday, April 12 when they host Smith College in double header action beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Amherst Softball Field.
