Softball Suspended Due to Rain Entering the Fifth Inning, Leading Tufts 1-0

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Leading the matchup 1-0 entering the fifth inning, the Amherst College softball's team's game versus the NESCAC East's No.1 seed Tufts University was suspended due to inclement weather. The game will resume tomorrow, May 7 at 9 a.m. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Both teams remained scoreless through the first three innings before Amherst was able to plate a run on a deep sacrifice fly by Kyra Naftel '19 with bases loaded at the top of the fourth.  
  • The Purple & White have out-hit the Jumbo's 7-1 in four complete innings, allowing just three Tuft's runners to reach base.
  • Amherst has notched at least one hit in each inning, including two in the first, one in the second and third, and three in the fourth, and have loaded the bases twice.
