AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst College softball team's match-up against archrival Williams College was suspended after four innings due to inclement weather.

Leading 8-2 when the game was halted, the Jeffs will resume play with the Ephs prior to tomorrow's home doubleheader scheduled for 12 p.m.

With Williams on top 2-0 after opening frame, Amherst broke through with three runs in the top of the third. Plating five more in the top of the fourth, the Purple & White built a six-run advantage before a 29-minute rain delay put a damper on play.

Amherst enters tomorrow's pivotal set with a 14-4 overall record and 3-2 mark in league play. Williams currently leads the conference's West Division with a 13-5 (3-0 NESCAC) ledger.
