Hired in 2017, Chris Plankey looks to continue working with sprint and hurdle events for Amherst College’s Track and Field Program.
Prior to Amherst College, he spent almost two years designing and implementing training plans for sprints, long sprints, jumps and hurdle events while coaching at Colby-Sawyer College. There he was able to work with all ranges of athletes, from beginners-intermediates to national qualifiers.
A graduate of Keene State College class of 2013 & 2014, Chris holds two bachelor's degrees in American History and Anthropology/Sociology. While at Keene State he was a member of the Cross Country and Track & Field team which routinely qualified for many post-season meets. With a background ranging from 100m up to 8k cross country races he enjoys being a student of the sport. Coach Plankey is a USATF Level 1 certified coach.
