NEW ORLEANS, La. – Junior Clark Ricciardelli and the distance medley relay quartet of Spencer Ferguson-Dryden '20, Ryan Prenosil '21, Ralph Skinner '20 and Cosmo Brossy '19 of the Amherst College men's track & field team have been named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Americans for their stellar performances at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Boston, Mass.
To earn All-American honors, student-athletes must finish inside the top-8 in their respective individual events or relays at the national meet.
His first appearance at the indoor national meet, Ricciardelli outpaced his No. 7 seed mark in the 5000m run to earn national runner-up honors. Crossing the finishing line two-tenths of a second off his PR, Ricciardelli clocked a 14:28.54 mark in a solid race from start to finish to earn second overall and the fourth All-American honor of his collegiate career (2018 XC, 2017 XC, 2018 outdoor 10,000m).
Taking to track for the distance medley relay, the Mammoths quartet narrowly missed out of a top-three time in the nation. The No. 7 seed entering the meet, Ferguson-Dryden (3:07.216), Prenosil (49.073), Skinner (1:54.815) and Brossy (4:11.978) combined for an impressive time of 10:03.09 to smash their seed mark and clinch fourth overall.
