NEW ORLEANS , La. – Three individual harriers and the quartet making up the Mammoths 4x400 relay squad have garnered U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor All-Region honors, as announced by the organization Monday.
The top-five individuals in each event from each of Division III's eight regions (Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast, West) earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-three relay teams.
Amherst's individual All-New England Region harriers include Cosmo Brossy '19 (5000m), Kristian Sogaard '19 (800m) and Clark Ricciardelli '20 (10,000m), while Vernon Espinoza '19, Harrison Haigood '18, Ralph Skinner '20 and Sogaard each received an All-Region nod for their efforts as part of the Mammoths 4x400 relay team.
A total of 743 student-athletes from 192 programs across the country earned 948 All-Region honors, with George Fox out of the West region leading all of Division III with 23 All-Region honorees.
MIT led the New England region with 14 total selections, while Amherst was tied for third among NESCAC institutions with seven selections. Middlebury led the NESCAC with 12 All-Region nods, followed by Williams (9), Tufts (6), Bowdoin (5), Hamilton (4), Connecticut College (3), Colby (3) and Wesleyan (1).
