AMHERST, Mass. -- Amherst College won all six singles matches to complete an 8-1 victory over Bates College in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's tennis action Wednesday afternoon at the Amherst Tennis Center.
Amherst won their second straight match against another unbeaten NESCAC opponent, improving to 13-2 overall and 5-0 in the conference, while Bates falls to 5-8 (3-1 NESCAC).
The Mammoths took a 2-1 lead after doubles with wins at the first and third spots, then won in straight sets at five of the six singles positions.
They clinched the match afte Sean Wei '21 won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 at #1 singles.
No. 7 Amherst will host #10 Williams on Saturday at 12:00 PM, while Bates hosts defending national champions Middlebury on Friday at 4:00 PM.
